Bracing the Plates for Acoustic Guitar #2

With the rosette installed, the plates for my acoustic guitar are ready for bracing. I’m making all the braces out of spruce per the dimensions on my particular set of plans. This step is tedious but fun. I like to hear how the sound of the plates changes as they are put in tension by the braces. After glueing in all the braces, I moved on to carving the ends of the braces with a sharp chisel. With the brace ends shaped, I used some 3D Printed sanding blocks to shape the tops, followed up with a bunch of hand sanding. I’m happy to have the braces done and am ready to set these aside and work on bending the sides with my new side bender.
