Restoring an old Oilstone

I have an old Oilstone that desperately needs to be flattened. Its very worn. I decided to try flattening this stone with my belt sander but quickly found out that the stone wore out the abrasive belts. I then resorted to using an old file to try filing away the surface. Neither of these options worked great but I was able to get the stone smoothed out and at least in a useable condition. After all that hard work, I decided to make a nice wooden storage box for it using the CNC machine. Now this old stone will be protected when not in use.
