Are you a “REAL” Luthier?

There’s a trend that I’ve been noticing lately where people ask a specific question about a certain process of building a guitar. This is not out of the ordinary and lots of times people will respond in a supportive way. That’s how it should be. However, a lot of times, someone in the comments will tear them apart saying “that’s not how a real luthier would do it”. I understand everyone has different opinions on how things should be done, but I see this happening more and more in many of the different forums and groups. I personally don’t get it and wanted to share some of my thoughts on this. I feel that we need to all work together and support each other. We’re all trying to build the best instrument we can with our particular set of skills and tools. Let me know your thoughts on this in the comments.
