Make a Leatherman EDC Pouch | Mistakes will be Made

I live my Leatherman Charge. I carry it with me every day and use it all the time. I got the tool because it had a pocket clip. That is my preferred method of carrying my EDC items. What I have found out though, is that the pocket clip breaks very easily if its bumped on something at just the right angle. It snaps right off and this piece isn’t covered by the Leatherman warranty. After recently breaking the pocket clip again, I decided to try a different method of carrying it.

I decided I would make a custom molded leather pouch to hold it along with my trusty Streamlight Microstream flashlight. I made a wooden form that I used to wet mold the leather around the 2 tools. Then I stitched up a case utilizing a belt clip with a hidden rivet. There were many mistakes made in this process. I think that can be a good thing though, as thats how I learn best. Don’t be afraid to make mistakes.

Ultimately, I ended up with a really cool custom pouch. It holds the tools perfectly and will last me a long, long time. Check out the video below. I hope it helps spark an idea for you. What can you custom make for yourself to make your life easier?
